After working with the City of Mansfield on a number of initiatives, the Parks and Recreation department hired BrandEra to develop the marketing materials for the new Oliver Nature Park. With a primary focus on nature education, the park contains a variety of unique features including a treehouse overlook, an isolated wildflower area, an original windmill and distinctive geological formations.
BrandEra worked closely with the Parks and Recreation staff to create branded collateral for the new park. This included brochures, the website, print advertisements, the grand opening invitation and the grand opening program for the park. Along with the Parks and Recreation department, BrandEra worked with City Council, senior leadership and the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation to build consensus on the initial creative concept. With bright accent colors and unique die-cut elements, the materials reflect what makes Oliver Nature Park so unique. BrandEra focused on creating materials that embraced the educational and natural aspects of the project.
The grand opening of the Oliver Nature Park was a highly successful event. With thousands of participants and local media in attendance, the Mayor and all officials involved in acquiring the land, the Oliver family and its descendants welcomed the public to the park.
Oliver Nature Park is currently booking educational classes months in advance and has well-attended programs scheduled with Mansfield ISD and other area schools. The marketing plan and campaign for the opening of Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park received the TAMI Award from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers Association in June 2014 as well as a Silver Circle and SAVVY award from the City-County Communications and Marketing Association for the invitation and the event.
